Schedule an Appointment

ESSA staff meet with students both virtually and in person at our office in San Martin Center. For virtual appointments, you will be sent a Zoom link for the meeting. Prior to the meeting we invite you to identify a safe, comfortable space for yourself so we can talk without disruption. All appointments will be held at Eastern Standard Time.

How to Prepare for Your Meeting

Here are a few tips to prepare for your meeting:

  • Gather along any relevant documents. These may be doctor’s notes, medical records, police reports, court documents, etc., that may be helpful to reference while meeting.
  • Think about what you want to focus on during your meeting with a Case Manager. Are there specific resources you want to discuss? A specific concern you want to address?

What to Expect During Your Meeting

During a student’s first meeting with a Case Manager, factors contributing to their concerns and/or struggles are identified and discussed. The Case Manager works with the student to identify possible supports and/or solutions by discussing both on and off-campus resources. In addition, they will help students in understanding University policies and procedures.

Case Managers will assist students in developing a plan and next steps and will continue to provide support to students through various check-ins whether in person, virtually over zoom, or via email/phone. These check-ins occur periodically throughout the academic year and are based on the needs of the student.
