The main focus of research in our laboratory is the structure and assembly of biological membranes. We study the thermodynamic and structural principles that underlie membrane protein folding and signal transduction across biological membranes.

We have been developing new tools to study the energetics of biomolecular interactions in biological membranes and the structure of thermally-disordered fluid membranes. Our lab work focuses on:

  1. PH-sensitive peptides for drug delivery applications
  2. Development of florescence methods for studies of membrane receptors
  3. Interactions and function of the FGF receptors
  4. Small peptides that modulate the function of the Eph receptors
