Sreyas Chintapalli
Sreyas joined the ECE department at Johns Hopkins University in Fall 2019. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington university in Saint Louis in 2016. After that, he worked as a process engineer in silicon manufacturing until joining JHU. His research interests are in semiconductor devices, device design, and nanofabrication. He also enjoys cooking, camping, and music.
Dhanvini joined the ECE Department at Johns Hopkins University in Fall 2021. She received her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India, and her masters in Microsystems and Nanodevices from the University of Alberta, Canada. She worked as a Yield Engineer at Global Foundries before joining JHU. Her research interests include thin films, optoelectronics, and nanotechnology. On the non-academic front, she is passionate about Bharatanatyam dance and Hindustani vocal music.
Dana is a third year undergraduate student studying Electrical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Her research interests include nanomaterials and their utilization in optoelectronic devices, with a focus on renewable energy applications.
In 2020, Serene started her PhD in the ECE department at Johns Hopkins. She received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. Her research interests include 2D materials and optoelectronics. She enjoys listening to music, reading and hiking in her free time.
Chris is a rising fourth-year student from Maryland who is completing a four year combined B.S./M.S.E in electrical engineering. He is interested in electronic design and semiconductor fabrication that focuses on renewable energy applications.
Hoon Jeong “Kevin” Lee
Kevin joined the ECE department at Johns Hopkins University in Fall 2020. He received his B.S. in Physics and his B.S. in Engineering Physics (electrical engineering concentration) from New Mexico State University. His research interests are in solar energy and nanotechnology. He spends his free time watching and reading about films.
Lulin is currently a PhD student in ECE department at Johns Hopkins University. He comes from Xi’an, China. He received his B.S. in Physics in 2016 from Zhejiang University, China, and his M.S. in ECE in 2018 from Johns Hopkins University. His research interests include semiconductor physics, photovoltaics and energy devices.
Ekin is a third-year undergraduate student studying electrical engineering and physics. His interests are in nanotechnology and renewable energy, especially with regards to physical aspects and machine learning approaches.
Yijun joined the ECE department at Johns Hopkins University in Fall 2022. He comes from Zhengzhou, China. He received his B.A. in Physics from Grinnell College, Grinnell. Iowa. His research interests include nanomaterials and energy harvesting. He also enjoys badminton and ping-pong.
Ian is a junior from Baltimore, Maryland who is completing a B.S in both electrical and computer engineering. He is also on the John’s Hopkins varsity water polo team where he serves as a captain. His interests include hardware design, semiconductor fabrication, and energy devices.
Marco is a PhD student within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California State University, Long Beach in 2023. His research interests include quantum emitters, integrated photonics, and optoelectronics. For fun, Marco’s hobbies include high-power rocketry, amateur radio, and latin dancing.
Leshan is a PhD student in the physics department at Johns Hopkins University who originally comes from Beijing, China. He received his B.S. in physics in 2022 from University of California, Irvine. His research interests include low-dimensional materials and photonics. Outside work, he enjoys cooking and listening to his classmates talking about astronomy.
Pranhav is a third-year junior from Detroit, MI completing a combined B.S./M.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering, B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and a minor in Applied Math and Statistics. His research interests are in optoelectronics and nanotechnology but also with neural networks and signal processing on the computational side of electrical engineering.
Susanna Thon
Susanna M. Thon is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Physics from MIT in 2005 and her Masters and PhD in Physics from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2008 and 2010. Prior to coming to Hopkins, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto.
