Two Elected to National Academy of Engineering

Summer 2020

Two members of the Whiting School’s faculty were named to National Academy of Engineering’s class of 2020.

Russell H. Taylor ’70, the John C. Malone Professor in the Department of Computer Science, and Yannis Kevrekidis, a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor in the departments of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Statistics and a professor of Urology in the School of Medicine, received this distinction, which counts them among the world’s most accomplished engineers. Taylor was elected for his contributions to the development of medical robotics and computer-integrated systems, and Kevrekidis for his research on multiscale mathematical modeling and scientific computation for complex, nonlinear reaction and transport processes.
