We are pleased to announce the availability of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Edu (Enterprise) at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering (WSE). This service is designed specifically to meet the unique requirements of higher education, providing robust data security, compliance, and enhanced generative AI capabilities tailored to faculty and staff needs.

Why Transition to ChatGPT Edu

Through our agreement with OpenAI, the ChatGPT Edu instance at WSE offers several significant advantages compared to individual paid ChatGPT Plus or Teams account.

  • Enterprise-grade Security & Compliance: Enhanced protection for your data, compliance with higher education regulations, and seamless integration with Johns Hopkins Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Unlimited Usage: Enjoy unrestricted use without throttling, allowing complex queries and frequent interactions.
  • Frontier Model Access: Priority access to new OpenAI models and cutting-edge generative AI features.
  • Custom GPTs: Ability to create and share customized GPT models within your teams and groups.
  • Cost Efficiency: Reduced per-account pricing through WSE’s negotiated enterprise agreement.
