FY2025 marked the inaugural year of the Center for Media & Technology Solutions (CMTS)—and what a start! Our goal was simple: help members of the Whiting School of Engineering (WSE) teach, learn, and share their work with less friction. From recording lectures to livestreaming events, we met faculty, students, and staff where they are so their ideas could shine.
By the Numbers
Each of the 5,478 help requests we resolved meant one less roadblock for teaching or research. The 308 events we supported and 2,948 videos we produced helped bring the WSE community’s ideas to wider audiences. Our 36 training sessions and 20+ digital solutions created efficiency, while 107 refreshed classrooms and collaboration spaces established more reliable environments for learning.
Expanding What’s Possible
CMTS became the first division at Hopkins to deploy ChatGPT Edu, opened an expanded XR Lab, co-authored the Homewood Learning Environment Guidelines, and launched the Work Smarter training series. We also introduced tools like a WSE chatbot for EP programs and an AI-powered transcript processor for Admissions—streamlining processes and improving experiences for staff, current students, and applicants.
Powered by Partnership
These milestones were achieved in partnership with the WSE community. Your questions, feedback, and collaboration shaped where we invested, from improving classrooms and studios to elevating events and storytelling. In the year ahead, we’ll stay focused on people-first goals: better learning spaces, compelling media, responsible AI, and targeted training.
