Amy McFarland
Amy McFarland was raised in Baltimore and spent time in Annapolis with her family. She nannied for 15 years with families ranging from newborns to special needs adults. She currently attends Towson University for her Family Studies and Human Services degree.
Before starting with JHU MCP, McFarland worked at a few nonprofits, mainly The National Correctional Industries Association (NCIA), an international nonprofit professional association whose members represent federal, state, county, and international Correctional Industry agencies. NCIA keeps the field up-to-date on reentry strategies, emerging technologies, best practices, and the many success stories of incarcerated individuals whose lives have been transformed by Correctional Industries.
She also worked with a nonprofit where she helped educate minorities in Baltimore City on Section 8 financial literacy, in hopes they could turn around and purchase a home of their own. Through these experiences, she learned how to grow her skills working alone and with a team. She is happier as a team player, which she realized during the few years working alone at home during the pandemic. She is excited to get to know everyone in the MCP!
