This semester’s MCP user spotlight is Ona Ambrozaite, Ph.D. candidate in Physical Materials Chemistry.

On how she uses the MCP:

“I use the SEM and FIBSEM instruments to investigate the semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) nanoribbons I synthesize using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods in the Kempa research group.”

How she sees the MCP in her future career:

“I am planning on pursuing a career in science diplomacy and science policy, focusing on promoting the role of science diplomacy as a tool for cooperation, monitoring and expertise at the service of development, innovation, and global issues.”

How she sees the MCP impacting scientists and engineers outside of JHU:

“I would love to spotlight the work of MCP in different international meetings and dialogues I am part of, whether to international groups that are interested in our university’s work or to various stakeholders that could establish collaborations with MCP in the future.”

Her favorite part about her work with the MCP:

“The MCP has been a place for truly fun discussions about what materials we can look at and what is the best way to do so, thanks especially to Ken Livi. Ken, a big thank you for making MCP such a hub of collaboration between different researchers from all over the university. We appreciate you!”
