Our research focuses on melding state-of-the-art photonic devices and signal processing to produce cutting-edge technologies that advance the performance of imaging and sensing systems for a variety of applications from microendoscopy to high-speed photography to wireless communications.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-247\" src=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/unp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/beads.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/unp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/beads.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/unp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/beads-300x86.jpg 300w, https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/unp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/beads-500x144.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communications, Computation, and Information Security<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Photonic systems are critical to communications systems in addition advanced photonic systems for implementing computation and physical-layer security are emerging.
