The SAFIR Day is an annual event hosted by the JHU Whiting School of Engineering. The event brings together SAFIR users from industry and academia. Participants discuss exceptional projects in structural fire engineering with advanced numerical modeling, learn more about the capabilities of the software, and connect with the community.
The first edition, held in 2023, was attended by more than 130 participants from 35 countries. The event included 12 presentations from SAFIRĀ® users based around the world, including in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the United States. Speakers demonstrated how they have used SAFIRĀ® to not only model the fire response of buildings, bridges, and tunnels but also in new research.
The second edition included 10 presentations. Notably featured were the use of SAFIR for modeling the fire response of the PARIS 2024 aquatic center timber roof structure, and the SAFIR analyses of two recent bridge fire incidents.
Presentations from SAFIR Day events are available on our YouTube channel.
