5:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Johns Hopkins ROTC Reception, Glass Pavilion Levering Hall
Blue Jay Battalion ROTC alumni and students will gather to celebrate 100 years of Johns Hopkins ROTC on Friday, September 30 at 5:00 pm in the Glass Pavilion in Levering Hall. Memorabilia, photos and Hopkins historical information will be on display at the reception.
9:30 pm – 2:00 am: The Blue Jay Takeover – Federal Hill, Begins at Mother’s Federal Hill – 1113 S Charles Street
Join us for a Blue Jay Takeover in Federal Hill! Shuttle buses to Mother’s Federal Hill Grille will depart from Ralph S. O’Connor Recreation Center at 9:45 pm and 10:15 pm. Shuttles will be available to return to campus at 1:45 am, 2:00 am, and 2:15 am. (Must be 21+ with valid, government issued ID.)
9:30 am – 5:00 pm: Madewell Jean Recycling Program (Service Project), Ralph S. O’Connor Recreation Center
“Did you know it takes approximately 500 to 1,000 pairs of jeans to insulate just one home? Translation: We need yours. Bring your old jeans to YAW! This year, we’re partnering with Madewell who will turn your old jeans into housing insulation for communities in need. Bring your old jeans to the Madewell table in the Ralph S. O’Connor Recreation Center any time between 9:30 am – 5:00 pm and you’ll get $20 off a new pair of jeans at Madewell! (Limited to one per person)”
10:00 am – 11:30 am: 134-Day Brunch for the Class of 2016, Hopkins Club
Celebrate 134 days since graduation at the Hopkins Club! Open ONLY to members of the Class of 2016. Leave your jeans and flip-flops at home and come in business snappy for a brunch at the Club, a Hopkins tradition.
10:30 am – 12:30pm: Johns Hopkins ROTC Open House, ROTC Building
100th Blue Jay Battalion Festivities continue on Saturday, October 1. Tour the ROTC building and tailgate before the JHU football game against Juniata. At halftime, the Hopkins ROTC Color Guard will perform a Pershing Rifle demonstration. Before the game, cadets will rappel the game ball down a tower near the stadium and present it to game officials.
10:30 am – 12:30pm: Pre-Game Tailgate Party, Hall of Fame Parking Lot
Kick off the Hopkins football season with a tailgate that begins in the Hall of Fame Parking Lot. The Hopkins vs. Juniata game begins at 12 pm on Homewood Field. Join your class beforehand to tailgate with hot food, cold beer, corn hole, and raffle prizes. Automatically receive one raffle ticket when you register. (Must be 21+ with valid, government ID.)
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Hopkins vs. Juniata Homecoming Football Game, Homewood Field
Come cheer on the Blue Jays as they take on the Juniata Eagles. And don’t miss the unforgettable halftime show! Go Hop!
4:00pm – 5:30pm: JHU Pride Gathering during YAW, LGBTQ Life Office, Homewood Apartments, Suite 100
JHU Pride Alumni Community and LGBTQ Life invite you to gather in their comfortable SAFEZONE space! Everyone is welcome to join us for snacks and an update on the vibrant and growing Hopkins LGBTQ community. LGBTQ Life has created a colorful environment for student interaction, brought gender inclusive housing to campus and more. Come hear all about it, casually network with alumni, meet current students and JHU Pride circle of friends!
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm: JAM (Johns Hopkins Annual Music Festival), Ralph S. O’Connor Recreation Center, Robert Scott Courts
This year, in conjunction with Young Alumni Weekend, the HOP will sponsor JAM: Johns Hopkins Annual Music Festival. Stay tuned, as we will be announcing the musical acts as we get closer to YAW! Doors will open at 5 pm and we expect the festival to run until 9 pm. We have the gym and the auxiliary gym reserved for the festival.
10:00 pm 1:00 am: Young Alumni Tent Party, Bloomberg Courtyard Tent
Don’t miss this year’s epic Young Alumni Tent Party. Pre-registration for alumni is free. Guests and students pay $15. Includes entry to the tent party, 3 drink tickets, and food. Must be 21+ to attend with valid, government issued ID. No entry after midnight, last call 12:30 am.
The formal conferring of degrees by Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels will take place during the University-Wide Commencement Ceremony. Printed diplomas will be presented only to doctoral students and undergraduates at this ceremony. Caps and gowns are worn at this ceremony, and no tickets are required for guests.

Join us for Young Alumni Weekend 2017! Don’t miss the Blue Jay Takeover at Pratt Street Ale House, the Homecoming Tailgate and Football Game, and of course, Tent Party!
All graduates are invited to attend the universitywide Commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Royal Farms Arena. Bachelor’s degree and doctoral candidates will be called to cross the stage at the universitywide ceremony. This is the main ceremony for bachelor’s candidates.
