This promising approach was one of several recognized at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ai.facebook.com\/blog\/results-of-the-first-fastmri-image-reconstruction-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fastMRI competition<\/a> held late last year by Facebook AI and NYU Langone Health.<\/p>\n<p>The competition challenged participants to use artificial intelligence to improve the MRI process. Traditionally, partial scans produce subpar images that are difficult to analyze.
