MHA2Margarita Herrera-Alonso
Assistant Professor
Margarita graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) with a BS and a MS in Chemical Engineering.  She received her PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2004.  She held two postdoctoral appointments, at Princeton University (until 2007) and at the UNAM (until 2009).  In 2010 she joined the Faculty at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at JHU.

Courses currently taught: Chemical and biological properties of materials (EN.510.606, spring) and Physical chemistry of materials I: Thermodynamics (EN.510.312, fall).

Current students
Hanying2Hanying Luo
Hanying received a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the Southeast University in Nanjing, China.  She then obtained her MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida focusing on silica nanoparticles and their self-assembly. Her current research interests are on amphiphilic brush polymers synthesis and solution self-assembly.
