{"id":573828,"date":"2025-08-20T15:37:25","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T19:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/faculty\/chinmay-maheshwari\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T10:15:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T14:15:38","slug":"chinmay-maheshwari","status":"publish","type":"people","link":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/faculty\/chinmay-maheshwari\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinmay Maheshwari"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Chinmay Maheshwari is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and is affiliated with the Data Science and AI Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Chinmay&#8217;s research focuses on developing novel theoretical and algorithmic frameworks to design and analyze interactions between strategic autonomous agents and humans in societal cyber-physical systems, including mobility (air and road), multi-robot systems, and energy networks. His work is organized around two core themes: developing decentralized learning algorithms for strategic agents operating in dynamic, resource-constrained multi-agent environments; and designing adaptive incentives and market mechanisms that, using limited information about agents, ensure that interactions in these systems result in efficient, equitable, and safe societal outcomes. His research draws on and bridges tools from AI, dynamics and control, optimization, game theory, and mechanism design.<\/p>\n<p>Chinmay received his PhD in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in 2025, where he was advised by Professor Shankar Sastry. He earned his BTech and MTech degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in 2019, where he was awarded the Institute Academic Medal. He was selected as an NSF CPS Rising Star in 2025 and is a recipient of the Lotfi A.
