{"id":554411,"date":"2021-06-28T19:06:15","date_gmt":"2021-06-28T23:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/academics\/undergraduate-studies\/combined-bachelors-masters\/"},"modified":"2024-09-10T12:14:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T16:14:21","slug":"combined-bachelors-masters","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/academics\/undergraduate-studies\/combined-bachelors-masters\/","title":{"rendered":"Combined Bachelor&#8217;s\/Master&#8217;s Degree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A combined bachelor\u2019s\/master\u2019s degree provides students with a number of distinct advantages:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Students graduate with a competitive edge in the job market.<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s degrees can usually be completed in one year instead of two as undergraduate courses may be counted toward the master\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<li>After a Johns Hopkins student completes eight semesters and earns a bachelor\u2019s degree, the Whiting School of Engineering will pay 50% of the student\u2019s tuition every semester while he or she is a graduate student.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-560048 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Russ-Huang-2-300x200-1-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Russ-Huang-2-300x200-1-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Russ-Huang-2-300x200-1.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility and Application Process<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>This program is available to any WSE undergraduate.<\/li>\n<li>Students are encouraged to discuss interest in the combined program with their advisor during the junior year to make sure they are well positioned to gain maximum benefit from the program.<\/li>\n<li>The application can be submitted at any time, beginning with the first semester of your junior year and ending with the first semester of your senior year. If the first semester of your senior year is the fall semester, you must submit your application by December 20th, 11:59 PM. If the first semester of your senior year is in the spring, the deadline to apply is October 13th at 11:59PM. If you missed the deadline, please speak with the academic program coordinator about alternative entry into the program.<\/li>\n<li>Admission decisions are made on academic performance that includes undergraduate GPA.
