Malone Associate Professor\u00a0of electrical and computer engineering at Johns Hopkins\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/\">Whiting School of Engineering<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>and director of the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pulselab.jhu.edu\/\">Photoacoustic &amp; Ultrasonic Systems Engineering (PULSE) Lab<\/a>, has been recognized with <a href=\"https:\/\/fi.edu\/en\">The Franklin Institute<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fi.edu\/en\/awards\/laureates\/muyinatu-lediju-bell\">Benjamin Franklin NextGen Award<\/a> in Electrical Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Bell was honored for her innovative design of medical imaging systems that integrate ultrasound and light to enhance the safety and effectiveness of both robotic and non-robotic guided surgeries.
