Sreyas Chintapalli, a PhD candidate in the lab of Susanna Thon, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and associate director of the Ralph O\u2019Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI),<\/span>\u00a0is helping Maryland make the right ones as state leaders implement some of the country\u2019s most ambitious climate initiatives.<\/p>\n To achieve a net-zero carbon economy by 2045, the state has mandated that by 2028, at least 14.5% of electricity sold in Maryland must be derived from solar resources. Chintapalli is lending his technical expertise to the state\u2019s Solar Photovoltaic Systems Recovery, Reuse, and Recycling Working Group as they seek to understand the challenges related to the increased adoption of solar photovoltaics.<\/p>\n
