{"id":571205,"date":"2024-10-15T21:26:59","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T01:26:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/?post_type=news&#038;p=571205"},"modified":"2024-10-15T21:50:28","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T01:50:28","slug":"thon-named-associate-director-of-rosei","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/news\/thon-named-associate-director-of-rosei\/","title":{"rendered":"Thon Named Associate Director of ROSEI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/\">Ralph O\u2019Connor Sustainable Energy Institute<\/a><span> (ROSEI) is pleased to announce that Susanna Thon, associate professor in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ece\/\">Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering<\/a><span> (ECE), has been named the associate director of ROSEI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Thon has been involved with ROSEI since its inception in April 2021 but will take on more responsibilities with this new role. In addition to providing general leadership and guidance for all matters involving ROSEI, Thon will oversee the institute\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/education\/\">education efforts<\/a><span>, which include the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/high-school-sustainable-energy-education-see\/\">High School Sustainable Energy Education (SEE) program<\/a><span>, JHU\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/energy-minor\/\">Energy Minor<\/a><span>, the recently awarded <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/rosei-awarded-reu-site-for-sustainable-energy-research\/\">Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site<\/a><span> for students who are external to Hopkins, and the institute\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/johns-hopkins-and-morgan-state-secure-2-7-million-nsf-award-for-ai-driven-microelectronics-training\/\">National Research Trainee initiative<\/a><span>, which is designed to cultivate a diverse workforce armed with expertise in AI and microelectronics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read the <a href=\"https:\/\/energyinstitute.jhu.edu\/susanna-thon-named-associate-director-of-rosei\/\">full story here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-571205","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-department-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
