Land Medal<\/a>, <span>\u00a0<\/span>given by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optica.org\/\">Optica<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imaging.org\/IST\/IST\/About\/About.aspx?hkey=300f16b8-d6f3-4161-b10c-6754adbf65da\">Society for Imaging Science and Technology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chellappa is recognized for significant contributions to image\/video processing, computer vision, and related fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Edwin H. Land Medal, established in 1992, honors scientists who have made profound contributions to scientific research and technological innovation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently the interim co-director of Johns Hopkins <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/Datascience-AI\/\">Data Science and AI Institute<\/a> and an AI pioneer, Chellappa has revolutionized computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning.
