Malone Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been elected to the 2024 Fellow Class by Optica (formerly OSA), an organization dedicated to advancing optics and photonics worldwide.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optica.org\/about\/newsroom\/news_releases\/2023\/october\/optica_announces_2024_fellows_class\/\">This award<\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>acknowledges her pioneering contributions to photoacoustic imaging techniques and their applications for surgical guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>Optica Fellows are selected based on their outstanding contributions to research, business, education, and engineering, and their dedicated service to Optica and the community. The selection process is highly competitive, with candidates recommended by the Fellow Members Committee and approved by the Awards Council and Board of Directors.
