Conklin Award in Computer Engineering &#8211; <\/strong><em>Lawrence Wolf-Sonkin<br \/>\n<\/em>Charles A. Conklin III earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins in 1927. This award is presented to outstanding electrical and computer engineering seniors to recognize their academic achievements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles A. Conklin Award in Electrical Engineering &#8211; <\/strong><em>Michael Mudgett<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Charles A. Conklin III earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins in 1927. This award is presented to outstanding electrical and computer engineering seniors to recognize their academic achievements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Leadership Award &#8211; <\/strong><em>Jesse Rines<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Leadership Award recognizes significant achievement by a graduating senior for leadership and service in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>William H. Huggins Awards<br \/>\n<\/strong>William H. Huggins was chair of the Electrical Engineering Department from 1970 to 1975. Professor Huggins was a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the IEEE, and was the recipient of the IEEE Educational Medal and the IEEE Edison Medal. These awards are presented annually to senior and junior students in electrical and computer engineering for outstanding scholarship and service to the department and to their fellow students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>William H. Huggins Award for a Junior in Electrical Engineering &#8211; <\/strong><em>Samuel Spetalnick<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>William H. Huggins Award for a Junior in Computer Engineering &#8211; <\/strong><em>Xinyi He<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>William H. Huggins Award for a Senior in Electrical Engineering &#8211; <\/strong><em>Daniel Vresilovic<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>William H. Huggins Award for a Senior in Computer Engineering &#8211; <\/strong>Elijah Pivo<\/p>\n<p><strong>IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Excellence Award &#8211; <\/strong><em>Aurik Sarker<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Excellence Award recognizes those within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering who have demonstrated exceptional academic accomplishments. This award is presented to a member who has not only excelled in scholastics but has also exhibited sizable contributions to the university and the community through extraordinary character and leadership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Muly Family Undergraduate Research Award &#8211; <\/strong><em>Aurik Sarker, Jesse Rines<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>This award supports undergraduate student research and is given annually to an exceptional undergraduate student conducting research in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. It was established by Emil \u201956 and Faye Muly in honor of their family, which includes several generations of Hopkins alumni.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Boswell Whitehead Award &#8211; <\/strong><em>Henrik Schuh<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>John Boswell Whitehead was named professor of electrical engineering in 1910 and began a program in Applied Electricity that led to the formation of the Electrical Engineering Department. Professor Whitehead also was the first dean of the School of Engineering.
