Baltimore’s innovation community is pushing the apparel industry forward\u2014and there’s a connection to Johns Hopkins Engineering.<\/p>\n

Technology developed by James West<\/a>, professor of electrical and computer engineering, is being used by one company to produce piezoelectric yarn, which could mean that wearable technology wouldn’t necessarily involve a device like a Fitbit.<\/p>\n
