We will explore the basic physical properties of light and why it is integral in modern technology in a wide variety of applications from medicine and the internet to climate change. Background in physics is suggested but not required.\u00a0Each lecture consists of an hour long presentation followed by 1 Hr group experiments.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this course we will visit Dr. Xingde Li&#8217;s lab at Hopkins medical campus. We will also go on a tour of the Hopkins space telescope institute. The tour will end at the\u00a0Morris W.
