Dr. Wu earned her Ph.D. and\u00a0 M.S. degrees in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, and a M.S. degree in Physics from National Taiwan University. Dr. Wu&#8217;s\u00a0 Ph.D. research was focused on the development of high-resolution imaging devices that provide rapid detection of early stage cancer through a minimally invasive procedure. Her current research at Canon is focused on\u00a0 the development of advanced medical imaging systems such as ultra-miniature endoscope and cardiovascular imaging catheter. Her specialties are optical design, system setup, opto-mechanics, and biomedical optics. Dr. Wu is particularly interested in bench to bedside translation where ideas are transformed from research into clinically viable instruments and ultimately translated into commercialization.
