Luana Ruiz is an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics. She is also a member of the Data Science and AI Institute. She received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022, and the double\u00a0<\/span>B.Sc<\/a>. and M.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil and the \u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure d’Electricit\u00e9 (now CentraleSup\u00e9lec), France, in 2017.<\/p>\n

Luana was nominated an iREDEFINE fellow in 2019, a MIT EECS Rising Star in 2021, and was awarded the Eiffel Excellence scholarship from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs between 2013 and 2015.
