{"id":3881,"date":"2024-11-05T10:51:19","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T15:51:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/doctor-of-engineering\/faculty\/charbel-rizk\/"},"modified":"2024-11-05T10:51:19","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T15:51:19","slug":"charbel-rizk","status":"publish","type":"people","link":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/doctor-of-engineering\/faculty\/charbel-rizk\/","title":{"rendered":"Charbel Rizk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Charbel Rizk is not currently teaching during the 2021-22 academic year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Charbel Rizk is an associate research professor and lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as a consultant for the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).<\/p>\n<p>Rizk\u2019s research interests focus on integrated system-on-chip sensors, integrated photonics, controls, autonomous systems, UAV platforms, and sensors, as well as biomimetic devices for medical applications.<\/p>\n<p>He has worked previously as principal staff, systems\/lead engineer, S&amp;T advisor, innovation lead, and member of the Innovation Steering Group for the Air and Missile Defense Sector at APL.<\/p>\n<p>Rizk earned his PhD in 1997 from Florida Atlantic University.
