The annual program fee\u2014usually paid by the student\u2019s employer\u2014covers expenses associated with the research (notably, the faculty mentor), as well as all courses the student takes:<\/p>\n

$68,680 annually \/ $34,340 semester<\/p>\n

Please note that if a Doctor of Engineering project requires extensive or expensive use of JHU facilities, those costs will also be covered by the student\u2019s employer.<\/p>\n

Understanding the program cost:<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is useful to consider the cost of training a Doctor of Engineering (DEng) candidate in the context of the cost of educating a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate. PhD students typically are supported through government grants or contracts, totaling about $100,000 per year, which cover research costs, tuition, stipend, and health insurance. The DEng program is less expensive because the student\u2019s salary and health insurance already are being paid by the student\u2019s employer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
