Join us on May 1 to see more than 200 cutting-edge projects from departments across the Whiting School of Engineering. Registration is required to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to our featured presentations and demonstrations, we are pleased to announce<strong>&nbsp;Dean Kamen&nbsp;<\/strong>as<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>our<strong>&nbsp;Design Day Keynote Speaker and Blumenthal Lecturer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dean Kamen<\/strong><br>Founder and President<br>DEKA Research &amp; Development Corporation and&nbsp;<em>FIRST\u00ae<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dean Kamen is the founder and president of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dekaresearch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DEKA Research &amp; Development Corporation<\/a>. Technologies developed by DEKA include the HomeChoice\u2122 portable dialysis machine, the Segway\u2122 Human Transporter, and a DARPA-funded robotic arm. He also founded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstinspires.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>FIRST\u00ae<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an organization dedicated to motivating the next generation to understand, use, and enjoy science and technology.
