She is currently CEO of AI and arts nonprofit DeepMusic.ai, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and a brand ambassador for Guerlain Cosmetics. She previously founded Drive.ai\u2014which was acquired by Apple\u2014is a children&#8217;s book author, and a mentor for young kids in engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reiley is a pioneer in teleoperated and autonomous robot systems in applications such as surgery, space exploration, disaster rescue, and self-driving cars. She previously worked at Drive.ai, Intuitive Surgical, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric. She co-founded, invested, and was president of Drive.ai, raising over $77 million. She also founded Tinkerbelle Labs for low-cost health care as well as Squishybotz for educational robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is the author of Making A Splash, a children\u2019s book on the first growth mindset, which has sold more than 20,000 copies. She was also the first female engineer on the cover of MAKE Magazine and the youngest member on the IEEE Robotics and Engineering Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She earned her master\u2019s degree in computer science from the Whiting School of Engineering in 2007 and led a robot outreach event for more than 1000 low-income students in the Baltimore\/Washington, D.C., area. She is an advocate for underrepresented groups in technology and speaks out about bias in AI. He leads technology research and translation efforts around the company\u2019s mission, working with other functions to identify innovations and opportunities for new products to bring to market. His extensive robotics development background and experience as a founder of several companies shapes his leadership to contribute to Intuitive\u2019s strategic vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining, Rich was the founder and CEO of Seismic, a spin-off venture from SRI International, focused on improving quality of life through Powered Clothing, a new approach to wearable robotics designed to enhance mobility and overall quality of life for employee safety and consumer health.&nbsp; Prior to Seismic, Rich was the Director of SRI Robotics for more than seven years, where he led a team delivering cutting-edge robotics innovations. His roles as inventor and advocate are intertwined\u2014his own passion for technology and its practical uses has driven his personal determination to spread the word about technology\u2019s virtues and by so doing to change the culture of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kamen is the founder and president of DEKA Research &amp; Development Corporation. Examples of technologies developed by DEKA include the HomeChoice\u2122 portable dialysis machine, the iBOT\u2122 Mobility System, the Segway\u2122 Human Transporter, a DARPA-funded robotic arm, a new and improved Stirling engine, and the Slingshot water purifier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to DEKA, one of Kamen\u2019s proudest accomplishments is founding FIRST\u00ae (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an organization dedicated to motivating the next generation to understand, use, and enjoy science and technology. Founded in 1989, this year FIRST\u00ae will serve more than 3,200,000 young people, ages 4 to 18, in more than 100 countries around the globe. Last year, high-school-aged participants were eligible to apply for more than $80 million in scholarships from over 200 leading colleges, universities, and corporations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kamen has received many awards for his efforts. Notably, he was awarded the National Medal of Technology in 2000. Presented by President Clinton, this award was in recognition for inventions that have advanced medical care worldwide, and for innovative and imaginative leadership in awakening America to the excitement of science and technology. Kamen was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 1997. He was awarded the Lemelson-MIT Prize in 2002, and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in May 2005. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, as well as many other national and international engineering organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-custom-002-d-72-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-73af2366f11b4ba605a2e3fe89e5d546\">The Blumenthal Lecture and Award<br><span style=\"font-size:.8em\">For Contributions to Management in Technology<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-880449fc048d13c689d7168482281f18\">Established by Sydney C. Blumenthal \u201937 and his wife, Mitzi Blumenthal, the annual Blumenthal Lecture highlights distinguished leaders whose careers have demonstrated an exceptional bridging of business with technology, capped by managerial accomplishment. The purpose of this award is to enrich the educational environment at Johns Hopkins by providing students with opportunities to hear how fields such as business management, entrepreneurship, law, and ethics interface with engineering and technology. Tesseract) as CEO, Dr. Demas led the development of new products at the cancer screening company GRAIL, where she also managed the scientific and technology portfolio and led a cross functional competitive intelligence program. She supported the development of the core platform technology which formed the basis of the company\u2019s first multi cancer early detection test (Galleri), and she led GRAIL\u2019s post-diagnostic efforts. Prior to joining GRAIL, she was a founding member of the Google Life Sciences (GLS) team within Google [x], which was later spun out to form Verily. At Verily, she led several teams and projects, including in diagnostics, medical devices, and translational laboratory science, and helped build its multidisciplinary science and engineering programs. Before Verily, Dr. Demas held multiple positions of responsibility at T2 Biosystems. She worked in engineering consulting and led a three phase NASA sponsored project prior to that. She holds several patents and has authored and co-authored numerous publications across multiple disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vicky received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Illinois \u2013 Urbana\/ Champaign and her Ph.D. from University of California \u2013 Berkeley.
