The Whiting School of Engineering (WSE) recommends communicating with students about their perspectives and the various approaches that can be taken when using these tools in higher education. By engaging in these discussions, collectively, we can learn more about diverse perspectives and better understand the benefits and drawbacks of generative AI, whether it is permissible to use in your courses, and how these tools support or hinder learning and achievement of course objectives.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Policies in Higher Education&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left|color:%23012e5b&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span class=\"TextRun SCXW80486556 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW80486556 BCX0\">To address these issues, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW80486556 BCX0\">provide<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW80486556 BCX0\"> explicit guidelines within course syllabi that clearly outline whether and how AI tools can be incorporated into activities or assignments.
