Shadi Esnaashari is a senior lecturer at the Center for Leadership Education. Her research focuses on students’ perceptions, motivations, and learning strategy use through self-regulated learning and activity theory to inform learning analytics.<\/p>\n

Before joining Johns Hopkins University, she worked in both academia and industry. In academia, she was a teaching and learning consultant at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has 18 years of industry experience as center head, center academic head, technical consultant, data analyst, and data scientist.\u00a0Her areas of academic expertise\u00a0are security, data mining, learning analytics, and artificial intelligence in education.<\/p>\n

Esnaashari received her PhD in\u00a0information systems and operations management from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
