Pamela Sheff<\/a> will be appointed as the director of the Whiting School of Engineering\u2019s Center for Leadership Education<\/a>, effective July 1.<\/p>\n

\"\"Sheff has served as director of the Whiting School\u2019s Master of Science in Engineering Management<\/a> program since 2014, and has taught as a senior lecturer in the CLE since 2006. She is widely recognized for her leadership, scholarly work, service to the university, and dedication to students.<\/p>\n

A seasoned professional, Sheff is the principal and founder of Sheff & Lano Communications, a Baltimore-based firm that specializes in developing market strategies and communications for institutional, corporate, and government clients. She holds a PhD in English from Harvard University and has published scholarly works including the recent \u201cOn the Job Training: Using Consulting Experiences to Enhance Students Employability: A Case Study<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

During her years at the CLE, Sheff has taught more than a dozen different courses, including The Culture of the Engineering Profession, Corporate Communications and PR and the graduate-level Strategies for Innovation and Growth.<\/p>\n

Sheff is also a founder of the Goucher Prison Education Partnership<\/a>, a program that provides a high-quality college degree program to men and women incarcerated in Maryland prisons, improving their lives while in prison and creating conditions for success as they re-enter the community.<\/p>\n

She succeeds Timothy P. Weihs<\/a>, professor of materials science and engineering, who was named director in 2010.
