2019 Gary Laben Lecture @ Gilman Hall 50

Please join the Center for Leadership Education for the 2019 Gary Laben Lecture featuring Dr. Kathleen Allen, president of Kathleen Allen and Associates. Dr. Allen’s lecture will explore the concepts presented in her new book Leading from the Roots: Nature-Inspired Leadership Lessons for Today’s World.

The lecture will take place on Friday, April 5 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM in Gilman Hall 50.

This year’s Laben Lecture will provide valuable insight for those interested in learning more about leadership through the lens of living systems thinking. Dr. Allen takes an innovative approach to leadership theory by designing a set of principles, influenced by nature’s organizational systems, intended to help organizations function more responsibly, economically, and intelligently. Her new book, Leading from the Roots, will also be available for purchase at the lecture. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about this year’s Laben Lecture. 2019 JHU Business Plan Competition @ Charles Commons
Apr 26 all-day

At the 20th annual JHU Business Plan Competition, students will present business plans and pitches in four categories: Medical Technology & Life Sciences, Mobile Applications, General Business, and Social Enterprise. Industry leaders and venture capitalists will serve as judges, selecting first, second, and third place winners in each category. Winners will receive monetary prizes ($6000, $3000, $1000 respectively) announced at an evening reception featuring keynote speaker Gary Laben.
