They are allowed to miss a maximum of five questions to pass the test.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Student Safety Course (540.490)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This course, which is required of all Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering undergraduates and graduate students, provides students with a basic knowledge of laboratory safety; hazards, regulations, personal protective equipment, good laboratory practice, elementary toxicology, and engineering controls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been developed by the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to assist with regulatory compliance, minimize hazards, and reduce the severity of any incidents that may occur in the department\u2019s laboratories and is a prerequisite for EN.540.311\/EN.540.313.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the safety course, all students involved in laboratory research must also take an annual three-hour refresher seminar.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Incident Reports<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the event of a laboratory incident, employees must submit a <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/chembe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IncidentReport.pdf\">Johns Hopkins University Incident Report<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
