Maitreyee Sharma Priyadarshini, postdoctoral researcher in the Clancy Lab<\/a> in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and postdoctoral fellow in the Hernandez Lab<\/a> in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Department of Chemistry, won the 2023 Johns Hopkins Postdoctoral Association Postdoc Slam Competition<\/a> for her talk titled, \u201c<\/span>Material Discovery: A Pie-Baking Analogy.” Priyadarshini\u2019s research is aimed at developing computational material discovery algorithms and multi-scale material models for energy and space applications. She primarily works at the intersection of computational chemistry, deep learning, and Bayesian Optimization, and is currently focused on metal halide perovskites which are upcoming solar cell materials that have a unique transformative potential for future solar cell devices.<\/p>\n

The Postdoc Slam Competition challenges postdocs to present a compelling presentation of their research in three minutes or less, using language that not only their peers but also non-specialists will understand. The Postdoc Slam intends to encourage postdocs to clarify their ideas and help others understand and appreciate the significance of their work. Its primary goal is to foster a culture of intellectual exchange by encouraging postdocs to present their research in a clear and engaging manner.<\/p>\n
