For students who are admitted to this program, the two degrees typically require five years total to complete.<\/p>\n<p>Combined bachelor\u2019s\/master\u2019s students with the following qualifications will receive a Dean\u2019s Master\u2019s Fellowship during their 5th year that covers 50 percent of tuition:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>full-time, resident status in a fall\/spring semester,<\/li>\n<li>admission to a full-time WSE master\u2019s program, and<\/li>\n<li>completion of eight full-time semesters of undergraduate study at JHU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students who enroll in the combined Bachelor\u2019s\/Master\u2019s program or pursue a master\u2019s degree after having earned a the BS in civil engineering or systems engineering at Hopkins may double-count one advanced course (400-level or higher) towards both the bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees with the permission of the master\u2019s faculty advisor. More detail on double-counting courses can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/education\/graduate-studies\/graduate-academic-policies-procedures\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span>Students in their 7th semester (fall) must submit their applications by December 1st to be admitted to the combined BS\/MS program in the following 8th (spring) semester. Students that are interested before this time may submit their application as early as their 6th semester. Students are encouraged to discuss interest in the combined program with their advisor during the junior year to make sure they are well positioned to gain maximum benefit from the program.
