The dashboard, which debuted on January 22, has been shared by practically every major news outlet worldwide and now receives more than 1 billion usage requests per day. Because of her expertise, Gardner was one of six Johns Hopkins experts who briefed congressional staff about the outbreak during a Capitol Hill event in early March 2020. She recently spoke with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/news\/2020\/04\/every-day-new-surprise-inside-effort-produce-world-s-most-popular-coronavirus-tracker\">Science Magazine<\/a> about the effort required to create and maintain the COVID-19 tracking map developed by the <a href=\"http:\/\/systems.jhu.edu\">Center for Systems Science and Engineering<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/case\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Guest1-e1388439349668.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-35506\" src=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/case\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Guest1-e1388439349668.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"106\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>James Guest and members of his research group are aiding in the development of a <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/case\/2020\/04\/24\/case-researchers-contribute-to-creation-of-3d-printed-ventilator-splitter-system\/\">3D-printed ventilator splitter system<\/a> designed to allow a single ventilator to treat multiple patients. Guest and his group are serving as the technical lead for a team composed of civil, mechanical, and biomedical engineers.
