{"id":53631,"date":"2025-09-02T11:20:26","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T15:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ams\/faculty\/jincheng-yang\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T10:57:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T14:57:00","slug":"jincheng-yang","status":"publish","type":"people","link":"https:\/\/engineering.jhu.edu\/ams\/faculty\/jincheng-yang\/","title":{"rendered":"Jincheng Yang"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Jincheng Yang is an assistant professor in the Whiting School of Engineering\u2019s Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Yang&#8217;s research focuses on analysis and partial differential equations, particularly those arising from fluid dynamics and kinetic theory, such as the Euler and Navier-Stokes equations, the Fokker-Planck equation, and the Boltzmann and Landau equations. Yang investigates key properties of these systems, including regularity and blow-up, stability and instability, and uniqueness and non-uniqueness of solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining Johns Hopkins, Yang was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study, and served as a Dickson instructor at the University of Chicago. Yang received a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2022, with a dissertation on partial regularity results for the three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.
