Important issues that are addressed in the department include modeling the mechanisms of cell mitosis, or the transition from healthy tissue to cancer, analyzing genomic data in relation with various type of diseases, understanding the modalities of progressive atrophy in brain neurodegenerative diseases or the impact of infarcts in cardiac dynamics.
