Carey Priebe<\/a>, professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, has been elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, a recognition of his outstanding research and leadership in the field of statistics.<\/p>\n

Priebe’s research focuses on computational statistics, kernel and mixture estimates, statistical pattern recognition, dimensionality reduction, model selection, and statistical inference for high-dimensional and graph
