We offer three different educational offerings:

Course: A course is a single unit of study focused on a specific topic. Courses can be part of a larger program (e.g., a program) or taken individually for personal or professional development. Courses vary in length and depth and may include assignments, lectures, and exams. Upon completing a course, you receive either a Certificate of Completion (if no learning assessments) or a Certificate of Competency (with learning assessments), with the total number of Johns Hopkins University Continuing Education Units earned.

Program: A program is an educational program offered by Johns Hopkins Engineering Executive and Professional Education that provides structured learning on a specific topic or skill set. These programs consist of multiple courses and may include capstone projects. Upon completing a program, you receive a certificate of Achievement, validating a set of competencies achieved. The Certificate also states the total number of Johns Hopkins University Continuing Education Units earned.

Professional Certification: A certification is a formal credential awarded by a professional organization or industry body, often after passing a rigorous exam or assessment. Certifications validate an individual’s competence in a specific area and often require periodic renewal through continuing education or re-examination.
