Professor
En (Evan) Ma has been selected as the recipient of the
ASM International
2004 Materials Science Research Silver Medal. Dr. Ma is cited for
"important experimental and theoretical contributions in the
study of metastable and nanocrystalline materials."
Presentation of this award will take place at
the ASM Committee/Council Awards Luncheon on Monday, October 18,2004
in Columbus Ohio.
Dr.
Nicholas J. Gianaris - ASM International 2003 Class of Fellows
Dr. Nicholas J. Gianaris received his PhD in
Materials Science & Engineering in 1996. He is currently employed
as a Lightweight Material Specialist by Visteon Corporation in Dearborn,
MI. He was cited “for outstanding and sustained contributions to
materials engineering and manufacturing in the power generation,
defense, aerospace, and automotive industries.”
Graduate student, Rachel M. Funyak has been selected
to receive a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship
(GRF) award.
Undergraduate student, Joe Lee
has been awarded a $10,000 National Security Scholarship for his
junior and senior years of college.
Undergraduate student, Albert Swiston,
Jr.,has received the 2004 TMS / SMD Scholarship (The Minerals,
Metals & Materials Society / Structural Materials Division). The
award is presented to an outstanding undergraduate student majoring
in structural materials during the 2002-2003 academic year. |
