SEA Student Relations Committee

The Student Relations Committee identifies ways the talents and energy of our engineering alumni can be used to assist Whiting School students. This committee also helps promote the SEA to current students through activities such as the alumni-student barbeque and providing study breaks during exam time.

The committee provides information, advice, and programs to assist students with the transition from college to life in the professional area, including:

• Career Night, which brings alumni back to campus to discuss issues related to job searches and career choices with current students and recent graduates.
• Mock Interview Night, which offers students the opportunity to view and take part in mock interviews, conducted by alumni, and provides experience and preparation for the job search process.
• The SEA’s Resume Review program, through which engineering alumni critique students' cover letters and resumes and offer suggestions related to their job searches.

The Student Relations Committee’s goals are to:

• Continue their successful annual programs that provide students with opportunities to learn about the engineering profession and other career options.
• Create new programs that encourage interaction between students and alumni.
• Assist with the ABET interview program and offer guidance with the young alumni survey.
• Solicit feedback and ideas from engineering student leaders about ways alumni could be of further assistance to current students.
• Find new ways to engage young alumni in the SEA
